Philosophy
If you would ask ten tribal dancers to give a definition of tribal/tribal fusion, you would probably receive ten different answers. Tribal fusion belly dance touches our souls in different ways for various reasons. Consequently, this dance is expressed in a myriad of styles.
My personal philosophy with respect for this art form is quite simple; honor those that came before me and their culture. I dance for those who, even today, would be persecuted if found dancing publicly. I dance for women and their rights for self-expression. I dance in honor of my temple, my body. I dance for joy, sorrow and all that lies between.
Tribal fusion is a journey that will never end. It is a dance form that will continue to evolve, grow and travel many paths. I love this art form. Even though it exists outside of the traditional box, I honor those whose culture I represent through dance.
